The Dutch violinist Jaap Schröder is one of the genuine pioneers of the revival of Baroque, Classical and early Romantic string playing. Since 2000 he has been engaged on recording the repertoire for string ensemble and fortepiano by Mendelssohn, Schubert, Schumann and others with the Atlantis Trio and Ensemble. With his colleagues of The Skálholt Quartet (Iceland) he has recorded the late quartets and quintet of Franz Schubert.
