Musica Omnia pays tribute to the greatest of all composers, Johann Sebastian Bach, with a substantial number of releases devoted to the solo, chamber, orchestral and choral music. Music Omnia will explore the great choral repertoire of Bach with the leading period instrument/choral ensembles Publick Musick and the Boston Bach Ensemble. The first releases in this series includes the Christmas Oratorio, BWV 248 (MO 0101), the four Missae Breves, BWV 233-236 (MO 0203)and the first of a number of programs devoted to the greatest of the church cantatas, including BWV 140, "Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme" (MO 0204). Future releases will include cantatas for the Feast of St. Michael, celebrating Publick Musick’s residency at the magnificent St. Michael’s Church in Rochester, NY; Easter cantatas (including the Easter Oratorio, BWV 249 (MO 0501) and a unique program devoted to older generations of the Bach family (MO 0408).
